On the movie Thinner I was called by make-up artist Bob Laden asking me to come in on a movie I have long wished to be involved in. I had heard over the years that Dick Smith was gonna do this film, and finally Bob tells me send your resume and press kit to Greg Cannom. I was very excited, and have always admired Greg's work since he worked with Rob Bottin on The Howling.

So I found myself not only helping Bob Laden assisting him in some of the application and removal of the fat makeup's on actor Robert John Burke. But Greg actually left me in charge of the gypsy make-up played by actor Michael Constantine.

There were 2 main stage's to Michael's makeup one looking over a 100, and another were the cancer hole on his the gypsy's nose got worse as the movie went on.

After the movie wrapped I was called back by Tom Holland and production to do the new ending effects. At this point Greg Cannom was no longer coming back and moved to another project. So when I went to meet with Tom Holland and the producers they felt that the ending of the film needed more of a punch.

So I came back and made with the help of close friend and artist Joe Mecchia the effects for the new ending which we made two corpse's one that was a stationary prop the other was an animatronic of the wife who eats the pie and waist's away to nothing.
