Man on the Moon

Sorry no pictures!  NBC make-up artists Louie Zakarian and Joe Mecchia and I did some featured players and extras gluing on fake side burns and mustaches, as well as period 70's make-ups. Louie did Lauren Michael's make-up for a key scene in the movie.

The sequence involved Andy Kaufman played by Jim Carrey, to make an appearance at the NBC studios, and recreate the famous "Saturday Night Live" taping of him playing the record player with the Mighty Mouse Theme.

The whole studio was changed and recreated in exact detail back to what it looked like back in the 70's.

I must tell you it was pure magic to see the old news update desk and sets how they looked back in the 70's right in front of you. Even the Olympic dinner set was recreated, remember the famous Sketch Cheeseburger! cheeseburger! cheeseburger!  Pepsi! Pepsi! Pepsi! Well, they rebuilt it for the movie and you never even see any of those sets and all the beautiful work that went into it.

Another weird thing is yes it's true Jim Carrey was Andy Kaufman I was walking down the NBC hallway between set ups. Here smack in the middle coming down the hall was Jim Carrey, I mean Andy Kaufman, I almost said oh hi Jim how are you? But instead I said hi Andy excuse me nice to meet you he nodded like and sounded just like Andy and said thank you very much , almost Loka like as he went to a room to take his make-up off.
